It is now!!
Today I did nothing!
Happy July-non-athon to all Juneathoners.
The last day of Juneathon. I had been thinking for the last few days what to do today and came up with two options.
1st: To go out on a run and just keep going until I drop. It even crossed my mind to just run in one direction and then phone Mrs Lazyjogger to come drive and scoop me up from the side of the pavement.😰
2nd: To do my favourite run from the last month, taking my two boys out for a run again.
I couldn’t decided so I left it to the boys, if they said yes then I would run with them. If they said no then I would head out for a world of pain!😱
Unfortunately Thank goodness the boys said yes. So when I got home the three of us set of for our run together, the boys looking a lot fresher than their old man. We did the standard 4Km loop. Fortunately the boys where there to help me get over the finish line.
So that is the end of this
crazy great Juneathon. I have deliberately not been looking at my accumulative totals lately as I wanted to just do the runs I liked and not start chasing miles. However I have just checked them and am bloomin shocked pretty pleased that I managed to get past 100 miles this month.😃 I will have to keep up the regular running and not drop back to the laziness again.
There’s no medal for finishing Juneathon but the boys have gone one better and got me a medal you can eat.😃😃
Mrs Lazyjogger has been great this month, I guess now I will have to start doing my bit again. She even made me this card.
It has been great reading everyone’s blogs and the support you get from your fellow Juneathoners is invaluable. I hope everyone has had a great month and I wish you all the best with your running and races in the future.
Distance run: 4.02 Km
Time: 28:27 mins
Total Distance for Juneathon: 174Km. ( 108 Miles ) 😃😃😃😃
Distance I will be running tomorrow: 0Km. ( 0 Miles )
It’s Friday, do you know what that means. Yep only one more day of Juneathon left!😃🏃
It also means I have to go out for my pre work run. I could go after work but that would mean missing the boys cricket practice. The members at the cricket club open the bar when the kids are training so it gives the parents a chance for a couple of drinks! 🍻Surprisingly the club is really well attended!!
This morning I was supposed to go out at 6, I woke up at five and once again The Lazyjogger tried to get me to stay in bed. Just to stop him going on I decided to get up and go for my run, so I was out the door by 5:35. 🏃
It was a really nice morning for it to. The sun was out but it had not made it too warm. I managed to stumble around my well used 5Km loop and by the looks of it just got home in time. It looked like a storm cloud was starting to move in.☔⚡
So that’s the penultimate run finished. I have actually enjoyed my morning runs, if I could just drag myself out of bed a bit more often, I reckon it is the best time to go out running.
Just one more run to go!!😃 I still don’t know what I am going to do tomorrow to mark the end of this epic event! Whatever it is I don’t think it is going to be long!😃
Distance run: 5.25Km
Time : 29:19
Runs left : 1 is that good or sad?
Last Thursday I had a slight mix up with timings which resulted in Mrs Lazyjogger missing her Zumba class. She has been really supportive during this Juneathon epic so I really didn’t want her to miss another.
I still wanted to do a fairly decent distance which meant my timings had to be spot on. I managed to sneak out of work a minute or two early and negotiated the traffic home, cursing at every red light. 🚥😡 On arriving home I did a super quick change and
shot fell out the door. 🏃
I managed the same route pretty much as yesterday, I always listen to music on my runs and had it on this time. I didn’t hear much of it though because all I had going around my head (in a Thomas the Tank style) was… Got to be home by twenty past six, Got to be home by twenty past six. 🔔
I just about made it as well. In the last kilometre I spent a lot of time double checking my watch. I got home and tag teamed the wife with seconds to spare. She set off for her Zumba happy as Larry.
Just two more runs left. I have got an early pre work run tomorrow and then have to decide what to do on Saturday to finish off this crazy month.😝😜
A joke to finish, I can’t remember if I have already used this one, apologies if so:
I’ve just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’ll tell you what …
Distance Run : 6.66 Km ( it was a devil of a run! )
Time : 38:48
Runs left : 2 just 2!!
I think today has been the warmest day yet of Juneathon. Not massively sunny and with no real breeze either, it didn’t take long for the sweat beads to start appearing on my brow.😓💦
I have decided to start my Juneathon taper and so set off on a 7Km jog. Yesterday’s 11Km came back and slapped me on the legs 👋 and laughed at me.😜 It was a tough run and I nearly took a short cut back home several times, but having stern words with myself I managed to stumble round my planned route.😥
Either nothing really exciting happened on my run or I was just to tired to notice anything outside the ache in my legs and my excessive breathing.🐗 💨 I don’t really have anything else to say. Other than I wish there was only 28 days in June.
My runs are going to get shorter from now to the end as the time I have available is going to get less. It is Mrs Lazyjoggers Zumba class tomorrow and I better not make her miss it again.😡
No picture again today, so once again another joke. Even these are starting to get Juneathon fatigue!!
I met the fella who invented the crossword the other day.
I can’t remember his name, it was P something T something R.😃😂😱😠
Today is probably the last day I can fit in a long run in Juneathon. So I set off in the drizzle to try and do a route I used to do last year. The route pretty much consists of a 5Km run down hill, turning around and running 5Km up hill. I managed to do it, though it was a struggle at times and will most probably be my longest run of Juneathon.😃
It is charity Tuesday today and as it is the last Tuesday of Juneathon I am going to unashamedly plug a friends charity run.
Crazy German determined runner is going to run a 38.5 mile ultra for an Oxford based charity called the ‘ Amber Phillpott Trust ‘ which supports front line research into Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.
Crazy German dedicated runner called Flo could have done this by just entering a standard race and asking for sponsorship. However this Crazy German determined Father , Husband , Runner does not do things the easy way and along with his hard working wife Catherine has planned the trail route himself assisted by other runners in parts, to finish at the Yeah Baby concert being held in Abingdon, Oxfordshire on 14th July.
I genuinely know of no other person as caring, determined, selfless and driven as Flo. Times are hard at the moment but if you have any spare pennies they would be greatly appreciated. You can donate here.
Even if you are unable to donate anything you should definitely check out his blog and read about all his training to be able to accomplish this challenge. I have no doubt whatsoever he will be able to do this, but any support you can give him can only help. You can read his latest blog here
That’s the end of the begging I promise. Only four more days of Juneathon left and then it’s time to rest.
Distance run: 11.56Km
Runs Left: 4 ☺
Today my run was delayed by a few hours. My eldest was once again off with the cubs. This time on a fish shop walk, which I think involves tramping through some muddy woods to the fish and chip shop to get a bag of chips. 🍟 This time Mrs Lazyjogger went to help.
So as they returned I headed out on what turned out to by a lovely jog in the late evening summer sun.☀ I never thought I would be saying that this month. It was one of my regular routes but it seemed to get easier tonight. Maybe my fitness has started to return after 25 days of jogging.😃
I even managed to speed up the pace as I was running past some drinkers sat outside the local hostelry. 🍻🍸
Just a short blog tonight with no photo as I have some fish and chips in the oven warming up that my wife kindly brought back for me.🍟
Just time for a short joke:
“I saw a bargain the other day, a TV set for £1. Only problem was the volume control which was stuck on full.
Come on, how can you turn that down?”😂😒😒😒
Distance run : 5.7 Km
Time: 32:45 mins
